Seawater reducing valves are specialized pressure-reducing valves (PRVs) designed for use in marine and offshore environments to control and lower seawater pressure in piping systems. Seawater is particularly corrosive hence standard reducing valves wouldn’t last all that long. These valves ensure that seawater is delivered at a safe, consistent pressure to downstream equipment such as cooling systems, firefighting systems, ballast systems, or desalination units.
